Ball Don't Stop: Toronto

Bones Hyland Drops 53, Chris Boucher Responds with 48, and Norman Powell Returns to Kerr Hall

Toronto showed out, and the stars did too. This year’s Ball Don’t Stop: Toronto Pro-Am was everything you’d want in a summer hoops showcase, packed gym, highlight plays, a wild atmosphere, and NBA talent putting on a show for the city.

Bones Hyland Steals the Show

Denver Nuggets guard Bones Hyland made the trip north of the border and delivered a performance for the ages. With 53 points in a jaw-dropping display, Hyland led We Them Ones to a thrilling win in what might have been the most competitive Pro-Am game Ball Don’t Stop has ever hosted.

Hyland had Kerr Hall buzzing from start to finish, dazzling fans with a slippery handle, deep threes, and cold-blooded shot-making. A pure hooper in every sense, Hyland took over the game and stamped his name in Pro-Am lore. If you weren’t there, you missed something special (but check the highlights below to catch a glimpse).

Chris Boucher’s 48 in Front of Home Crowd

On the other side, Chris Boucher, the pride of Montreal and Toronto Raptors big man, almost stole the night. Leading Team Toronto in the sold-out main event, Boucher erupted for 48 points in a showcase of athleticism, skill, and passion. Despite the loss, he made a statement with big plays on both ends, showing he’s locked in for a bounce-back season.

The crowd fed off Boucher’s energy, and he gave it right back with every bucket, block, and staredown.

Norman Powell’s Surprise Return

Just when fans thought the night couldn’t get more memorable, Norman Powell made a surprise return to Toronto. The 2019 NBA Champion and beloved former Raptor was swarmed by fans as he entered Kerr Hall. Powell dropped 21 points in the main event matchup, drawing roars from the crowd with every bucket and giving Toronto fans a healthy dose of nostalgia.

The gym shook as fans welcomed him back, this time, not in Scotiabank Arena, but on the city’s grassroots stage.

This Pro-Am was one for the history books. From the intense competition to the NBA-level performances and electric crowd, Ball Don’t Stop continues to elevate summer hoops culture in Canada. We'll see you in Vanouver in a couple weeks!
